The SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major) Construction Program at the Toronto Catholic District School board is helping students get into the trades. Brandon Rowe speaks with Nicole Ross and the students that are taking part in the program.

Programs that give students practical exposure can make a real difference when they are deciding what direction to take after high school. A family friend recently attended a construction workshop and came home excited about learning skills that could lead to an apprenticeship. Seeing that enthusiasm made me appreciate how valuable hands on opportunities can be for young people.
