Renos for Heroes - Veteran Support

Renos for Heroes (RFH) is a charity which dedicates renovation and building services to the families of the men and women who have sustained injuries while serving our country. As such the Carpenters' Union Local 27 and its members participate in various events to help give back to the veteran community.

RFH Charity Ride 2021

2021 marked our First Annual Charity Motorcycle Ride! This was in support of Renos For Heroes. Riders started at 10:00am at the Carpenters’ Union building and rode to Peacekeepers Park in Angus, Ontario. Lunch was provided by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 499.

Princess Margaret - Ride To Conquer Cancer

On behalf of the Executive Board and Staff at Carpenters & Allied Workers Local 27, we are proud to have sponsored with Enbridge® Ride to Conquer Cancer®. This 2-day cycling event journeyed over 200km from Toronto to Niagara Falls. The funds raised during the Ride event support vital cancer research, treatment, care and prevention programs in Ontario and across Canada.

 

We are proud to announce that 500 Riders took on the HAMMER physical and fundraising challenge in support of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. We would also like to thank Steve Merker and Tammy Johnson for visiting our office and presenting us with an official HAMMER Vest. We can’t wait to further develop this partnership, allowing for a unified team that will allow us to do more for the future!

Blue Tie Ride

Blue Tie Ride was founded in 2011 by Raumar Bustamante and Dolly Betancourt who both share a passion for raising funds and awareness for cancer research and support services and childhood sexual abuse. To date, Blue Tie Ride has raised $114,000 through various events but most importantly our Blue Tie Ride Motorcycle Rally/Poker Run which is held every August.

CTV Toy Mountain

The Carpenters’ Union Local 27 is proud to support The CTV Toy Mountain Campaign benefiting The Salvation Army. Every year, members of Local 27 come together to donate toys to help build Toy Mountain and bring smiles to kids on Christmas morning.

The Carpenters’ Union Local 27 is a proud partner of the Helmets to Hardhats initiative. The program offers apprenticeship training for anyone who has served (or who is currently serving and transitioning) from the Regular or Reserve Force of the Canadian Forces and wishes to begin a civilian career.

TimberFest Competition

The Carpenters’ Union Local 27 is proud to be an official sponsor of TimberFever. TimberFever is a design-build competition presented by Moses Structural Engineers. They bring together architecture and civil engineering students from universities across Canada together to build a life-size structure out of wood. This competition helps builds a partnership between students in architecture and engineering while developing design and communication skills that will be invaluable to their future!

Vita Mens Sana
