For those eligible for the CERB, you will be able to apply online or by phone starting next week.
Applications can be made online, through the Canada Revenue Agency website using your CRA My Account (https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/e-services-individuals/account-individuals.html) or over the phone at 1-800-959-2019. You will need your Social Insurance Number and postal code to use the phone option.
Both online and telephone options are available 7 days a week, 21 hours a day (closed from 3:00am to 6:00am for maintenance, daily).
The Government has indicated that once approved, the fastest way to receive the benefit is through direct deposit, so if you do not yet have that set up, take some time now to do so.
The date you apply is based on your birth month, as set out below.
